Concordia Projects: Coriolis
Badly burned in the Seattle Yacht Club fire, Concordia Yawl Coriolis was shipped back to Padanaram for restoration in August 2002. Most serious damage was on deck and a summary of the repair project includes: Replace teak laid deck, toe rails, cockpit seat, coamings, winch blocks, bridge deck, all hatches and port side sheer plank (center section).
Cabin sides were repaired by removing 5/16" of charred mahogany from the exterior surfaces and gluing new mahogany in place.
Cabin top was repaired and recovered using Dynel/Epoxy. Beautiful new spars, made by Stuart McDougall in Seattle, were shipped to Concordia, and once the varnishing, painting and upgrading were complete Coriolis was launched, rigged and commissioned in June 2003. After two summers of sailing in New England she was shipped back to Seattle in November 2004.
