Directory: Concordia Yawls & Sloops, No. 1-104
Concordia Company commissioned 103 Concordia yawls between 1938 and 1966, achieving worldwide recognition in the process. The German shipyard Abeking and Rasmussen constructed all but four of the yawls under a famous handshake agreement with Concordia Company owner Waldo Howland. The yawls were designed by legendary naval architect C. Raymond Hunt, with significant input from Howland.
Concordia yawls reached iconic status for their aesthetic, design and construction qualities, which have all ensured their enduring appeal and longevity.
Most, but not all, of the 103 original yawls survive today (plus one more launched in 2019!), a testament to the care and skill of generations of Concordia owners, families and artisans.
